I am a Canadian, with immigrant parents from Pakistan, living in Australia. I made the big move across the Pacific to pursue a medical degree at the University of Sydney (with the encouragement of Dr. Charmaine Lok), and to enjoy some good weather all year round. Currently, I am working at the Mater Hospital in North Sydney and have had an opportunity to rotate out to rural Australia to a town called Wagga Wagga. I will continue my career next year at Gosford Hospital on the Central Coast. My interactions with patients over the last few years has solidified my passion for empowering patients with the tools and knowledge to make differences in their own health and in those whom they love - a philosophy central to Kidney CARE. I am excited to be a small part of a this organization as it takes proactive measures to improve the lives of individuals affected by kidney disease.
